Chell Financial was founded in Brevard County by Paul Chell in 1966. Paul graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in aeronautical engineering before becoming a pilot during World War II. During the war he flew alongside famous test pilot Chuck Yeager and became a test pilot himself after the war had ended. Paul ascended to the rank of Lt. Colonel during his 26 year career in the air force. During the 1960’s Paul was allowed to run a part-time book of business before fully transitioning into the financial planning field after leaving the military. Paul successfully managed clients' money for 58 years and laid the groundwork for the business that we have today.
Paul Chell singlehandedly ran the Indialantic Rotary Club Tree Program for many years and was voted as the “Rotarian of the Half Century”. He left his mark on our community not only through his work with clients, but also by planting more than 55,000 trees at schools, parks, churches and public land across our community.
In the 1970’s Jim Chell joined his father in the business and helped take our operations to an even higher level. Jim’s expertise grew into a specialization for helping high net worth individuals and he made tremendous strides in developing and refining the practice into its modern form. He was later joined by his nephew Nelson as the third generation of family members to run Chell Financial. Together they have continued to enhance the quality of services provided to clients within our community and will continue to build upon an already thriving legacy.
Jim Chell is a CFP professional at Chell Financial who specializes in working with high net worth clients. Jim has been in the industry for 46 years (22 years as a CFP) and in that time has helped countless people achieve financial success. His length of service and experience have enabled him to steer clients successfully through some of the biggest downturns and largest bull markets in history. Jim is also an avid fisherman, car enthusiast, and general outdoorsman. When he isn’t spending time pursuing these hobbies he is working to make the Indian River Lagoon and the surrounding environment a better place.

He offers wealth building strategies, investment planning, retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning and education planning. He is a Certified Financial Planner and Registered Principal with the highest levels of expertise and qualification.
